The State Tax Service provided information in Letter No. 3/2022 about the features of exemption from liability for the untimely submission of the corporate income tax return for the year 2021 and the first quarter of 2022.
If a taxpayer has the opportunity to submit the corporate income tax return for the year 2021 and the first quarter of 2022 and does so within 60 calendar days from the first day of the month following the month of restoring this opportunity, they will not be subject to penalties for late fulfillment of tax obligations.
If a taxpayer understated the tax liability in the corporate income tax return for the first quarter of 2022 and self-corrected it in an amended calculation submitted before July 25, 2022, they are exempt from fines and penalties. However, this exemption does not apply to corrections for the year 2021.
If a taxpayer had the opportunity to timely submit the corporate income tax return for the periods of 2021 (the deadline was March 1, 2022) and the first quarter of 2022 (the deadline was May 10, 2022) but failed to submit it to the tax authority by July 20, 2022, and did not pay the corresponding amounts specified in these returns by July 31, 2022, they are not exempt from liability for the untimely fulfillment of these obligations.
